About Vergent

Vergent is a boutique technology consultancy that blends strategy, product design, and AI-driven automation to help growth-minded companies win more leads, convert them faster, and keep customers for life. From concierge tele-health startups to fintech lenders, we build modern web apps, data dashboards, and process automations that make businesses measurably better. Our culture is equal parts craft, curiosity, and client impact—and we’re scaling our design practice to match the volume of new engagements.

The Role

As our first dedicated UX/UI Designer, you’ll own the end-to-end product experience for multiple client projects and for Vergent’s internal design system (navy × orange palette, mixed serif/sans-serif type). You’ll partner closely with product managers, engineers, and growth strategists to turn insights into joyful, high-converting interfaces—then validate them with real users. This is a hands-on, green-field opportunity to shape both the visual language and the design culture of a fast-growing consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity comps, interactive prototypes (Figma), and responsive specs for web apps, dashboards, and portals.
  • Plan and run interviews, usability sessions, and A/B tests; translate findings into actionable design improvements.
  • Evolve Vergent’s component library, tokens, and documentation; enforce consistency across client and internal products.
  • Work side-by-side with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation; advocate for accessibility (WCAG 2.2) and performance.
  • Produce case studies, blog posts, and Loom walkthroughs that showcase design best practices and drive new-business conversations.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3-5 years designing SaaS or data-heavy web applications (agency or in-house).
  • Fluency in Figma (components, variants, auto-layout) and prototyping tools; Sketch/Adobe XD a plus.
  • Comfort with UX research methods and analytics tools (Hotjar, GA4, Mixpanel).
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and the trade-offs engineers face.
  • An eye for brand coherence—color, type, motion—balanced by a love of measurable, conversion-oriented UX.
  • Excellent communication skills; you can defend design decisions with data and empathy.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary plus performance-based bonus
  • Health coverage
  • Flexible PTO and remote-friendly work culture
  • Modern equipment and software licenses to keep you productive
  • Ongoing professional-development support for courses, conferences, and certifications

Why Design at Vergent?

  1. Breadth without bureaucracy. Work on fintech dashboards one sprint, then architect a tele-health portal the next—no red tape, real ownership.
  2. End-to-end impact. You won’t hand off static mocks; you’ll see designs ship, drive KPI lifts, and iterate based on live data.
  3. Culture of craft. Weekly design critiques, paid conference trips, and a founding team that believes great UX is a growth lever, not a cost center.
